Why can't I send my Bitcoin yet?

Once you have created your account and verified your phone number via SMS, you will be able to use all the functions of your account except withdrawing bitcoin.

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so we can't enable bitcoin withdrawals until we've completed the the full account verification process.

To ensure the security of your account we call every new customer to confirm the details of their deposit and identity. Additionally, Bitcoin deposits will not be available until 4 days after your first deposit of Australian dollars (even if we've called you within the four days).

Our intention is to make the process of buying and self-custodying bitcoin as quick and easy as possible, however the nature of Bitcoin transactions and its interaction with the traditional financial system mean there are precautions we must take.

To ensure this process is completed as smoothly and quickly as possible:

  • Make a small AUD deposit as soon as is practical to kick-off the 4 day timer.

  • Look out for our call from 08 8233 0884 (unfortunately we cannot receive calls to this number).
  • If you wish, write a secret (any word, number or combination) in your email that we can repeat back to you when we call you, to prove that we are calling from HardBlock.
